Bunch of mc donalds employees who have seen v for vendetta one too many times. Some of them do it for the lulz which is acceptable, but some of them actually think they're some sort of revolutionary movement - lame.
Anonymous is made up of white arts degree students, who are never going to face any real challenge or hardship in their tame lives, so they compensate by trying to be part of anonymous.

Large group (many thousands) of Hackers that basically act as in immune system for the internet (or just try to have fun). They are seperated into 2 groups- lulzfags (the ones who just do random shit for fun) and moralfags (the ones who act against those jepordizing the freedom of the internet). They protested against SOPA and PIPA and they protested against the church of scientology after the church tried to hack anybody who spoke out negatively or parodied a video by Tom Cruise saying that he agreed completely with scientology. And for those of you who will say that I'm part of Anonymous, I am not. And never will be.
Sketchy Political Figure: Let's ban these 17 sites!
Anonymous: *fucks-up all of S.P.F.'s computer related things.

Annoying Political Figure: Anonymous has 40 members and can do jack-shit.
Anonymous: Releases all of A.P.F.'s information.

Anonymous is a loose, decentralized collective of hackers/activists (hacktivists) born from the dark corner of the internet on the website known as 4chan (message board). Anonymous started out as a group in it just for the Lulz (lol's) but grew quickly into the activism world when they started an operation against the religion of Scientology. The group fights against censorship primarily dealing with the web and have fought to preserve individual privacy/anonymity. They have also been tied to the Occupy Wall Street and Wikileaks movements. Currently, Anonymous has developed into a focal point for internet security and civil rights while fighting against 'oppressive' governments.

no name, no face, no identity

Anonymous is often characterized by the popular internet image board website "4chan" due to the majority of the posters preferring to post as Anonymous.

Anonymous is also an internet terrorist hacking group that originated from 4chan. They have been known to terrorize "Habbo Hotel" (a popular social networking site), Scientology, large corporations through being part of the "Occupy" movements (many large scale peaceful socialist movements attempting to balance wealth in the United States+Canada. The movement started at Sept, 17, 2011), 4chan itself through DDOS attacks, Youtube, Steve Jobs, Sarah Palin, facebook, and more.

The Anonymous persona existed far before 4chan as a method for people to speak without being shown.
David posted as Anonymous as he saved up pictures of child pornography on 4chan. The FBI caught him anyways and he was sentenced to a few years in prison.

A group of Hackers on the internet. They aren't like the hackers you expect, they don't take passwords to innocent people's profiles. They are known for multiple things. They most recently hacked PSN (Playstation Multiplayer) because they "Treated the customers wrong"
Another thing they are doing is helping out the Turkish people. The Turkey Government has banned filesharing website and Youtube from the internet. Anonymous disagrees we that so they are trying to help the Turkish people.

And usually when someone is trying to explain Anonymous so D-Bag interrupts and says "Yeah those faggot ass bitch's took down PSN so I couldn't play for 3 weeks! They are faggots"
Which is not true since they try helping.
There saying is

We Are Anonymous
We Are Legion
We Do Not Forgive
We Do Not Forget
Expect Us

Anonymous aren't bad people just pretrial them as being douche bag hackers. When they clearly help whether it be harming someone on the Internet or not.

Fox news made them look like assholes that steal people's Myspace passwords which was not true.
Me - Aye, have you heard about this group of Hacktavists on the internet named Anonymous?

Unintelligent and Misinformed Person - Yeah those cunt's shut down PSN for 3 fucking weeks! I couldn't record my Quickscoping montage for youtube!

Me - So? have you heard about what they are doing for the Turkish people?

Unintelligent and Misinformed Person - No, they are faggot's so I don't pay attention to them except to make bad remarks about them.

Me - You know you should really pay attention to them..

Unintelligent and Misinformed Person - Why?

Me - The Turkish Government is banning websites like Youtube, Mediafire, FileFont.

Unintelligent and Misinformed Person - Oh, wow what does Anonymous have to do with any of this? And how am I supposed to put my Montage up if it will only get a few views?!?!

Me - They are trying to get the Turkish Government to lift the ban on these websites! And dude...

Unintelligent and Misinformed Person - What?

Me - You have 3 subscribers...

(What Is The Plan sect) A specific part of Anon.

Not hackers on steroids, not asshole 14-year-olds, not virgin pedophiles. Not 4chan. Although we claim the same name and motto of the rest of Anonymous, our purpose is global revolution. We will succeed simply because we will not stop until we do.

Yes, many of us began on 4chan and other similar sites, but we are not the same anymore. We want change, and we will have it, no matter how long it takes.
